The Alpine Loop is a great thing to do in Lake City, Co

Come explore our trails! Over 50 miles of old west fun where you and your family (and your dog!) can explore old-west mining towns, silver mines, waterfalls and take in the stunning views on top of 13,000 passes and imagine yourself as an old-west prospector! Yes, the pictures on our website is what you will see!

We will send you out with a map, trail guide and GPS so you know exactly where to go and where the sites are!

If you only have a few hours, no problem! We have an inexpensive 2-hour unguided tour where you will see an old-west settlement, a mine (complete with dam and several preserved buildings) and a beautiful waterfall! If you have a few more hours, you can reserve our 4-hour tour and add a 12,800' pass (Engineer Pass) and see the majesty of the Rocky Mountains and beauty of the tundra ecosystem.

Do you feel more adventurous? Then pack a cooler and head out on the loop for an entire day! You will go over two passes and picnic along the way. We recommend spending an hour exploring and picnicking at the Animas Forks Mine where you can walk inside the structures and explore a large old-west mining operation. On the way back, just after Cinnamon Pass you will see American Basin, one of the most photographed basins in the United States.

So book your adventure now and enjoy the beauty of Lake City, Colorado and the Alpine loop where you can ATV, hike, bike, camp, fish, hunt and more! How do you loop?
