Wupperman Campground
The campground is located along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway and provides access to hiking, fishing, 4-wheel and scenic driving. Located on the east side of Lake San Cristobal, this county-owned public campground features 31 sites with excellent views of the lake. Various site lengths will accommodate ADA campsites, RVs and/or tents. Sites are available on the lake or on the cliffs above.
Campers are required to store food and other items in a hard sided vehicle or camping unit constructed of solid non-pliable material.
Directions: From Lake City, head south on CO-149 S/Gunnison Ave out of town. In 2.5 miles turn right onto County Road 30. In 1.3 miles turn left (in front of Lake San Cristobal) onto County Road 33. Go 1.6 miles and Wupperman Campground will be on your right!
Castle Lakes Campground
Castle Lakes is in a peaceful forest setting at 9,200 feet above sea level. The sites are on a total of 41 acres, half of which is our 2 pristine lakes. (Bring your fishing gear) There are 50 camping and RV sites and 9 sleeping accommodations. The campground has full hook-up, pop-up, tent sites, & private fishing. Great showers, restrooms and laundry facilities.

Williams Creek Campground
Williams Creek Campground is located along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway and provides access to hiking, fishing, 4-wheel and scenic driving. The Colorado and Continental Divide Trails can be accessed via the Cataract Gulch Trailhead, which is a short drive from the site. The Lake Fork of the Gunnison Rivers runs adjacent to the campground and make it a great place for anglers to camp. 23 campsites.

Directions: From Lake City, head south on CO-149 S/Gunnison Ave out of town. In 2.5 miles turn right onto County Road 30. Go 6.9 miles and Williams Creek Campground will be on your right!
Deer Lakes Campground
This campground is located near Deer Lakes and provides fishing access to them. Most visitors to this campground come for great fishing in a beautiful location. Hikers, backpackers and equestrians will enjoy the trails of the La Garita and Powderhorn Wilderness Areas located southeast and northeast (respectively) of this site. This high elevation landscape is mostly aspen trees. 12 campsites.

Directions: From Lake City, head south on CO-149 S/Gunnison Ave out of town. In 9.7
miles turn left onto County Road 5. Go 0.1 miles and connect to County Road 50. Then just 3.7 miles and you have arrived at Deer Lakes Campground!
Mill Creek Campground
Mill Creek Campground is located along the Alpine Loop Scenic Byway and provides access to hiking, fishing, 4-wheel and scenic driving. It is the closest "full" campground to Handies, Redcloud and Sunshine peak trailheads. The Lake Fork of the Gunnison Rivers runs adjacent to the campground and make it a great place for anglers to camp. 23 campsites.

Directions: Drive two miles southeast on State Highway 149 to County Road 3 / Bureau of Land Management Road 3306. Turn Right. Turn right on County Road 3 / BLM 3306 and drive 10 miles.
